Somehow i don't think i am supposed to reward myself
with a beer, after going for a long walk and burning off
some calories. But it tastes sooo good!
i met K for dim sum today, and
although our visit was cut short due to some confusion on
where each other was, it was still a very nice time.
And the walk felt so good. When i arrived at the
restaurant, it seemed fairly deserted. They serve
food on the main floor as well as on the second floor, and
one never knows which one will be available. Given
that it was later in the afternoon i thought perhaps it
was just their quiet time, so found a chair. i
explained to the waiter that i was waiting on someone, and
that perhaps she was upstairs already but he said 'no no,
upstairs closed at 2 o'clock'. Hmmm. i settled
in to wait and asked for tea.
After awhile i was beginning
to think that something was wrong and i asked the waiter
what time it was. It was twenty minutes past the
agreed upon arrival time. Now i was getting
worried. Either something awful had happened to K,
or i'd gotten the meeting time wrong. i was also
noticing people coming down from the upstairs
section. i finally asked the waiter to just go check
to see if there was a single lady up there. By this
point i figured even if the person wasn't K, i'd go sit
with her anyway. i was feeling a bit silly.
But sure enough, K was indeed up there, wondering where
the heck i'd gotten to! When she arrived, they
wouldn't let her sit downstairs, putting up a screen so
that people would go up. i must have missed this by
mere minutes, because it was gone when i arrived,
and i was told to stay downstairs.
Are you confused yet? i
am :)
Anyway, we did finally sort it
all through and i had a lovely visit. i think
we should make it a habit.
The problem with skipping many days between writing here
is that i forget what i did. And then wonder what to
talk about.
i
did go to a baseball game this week however. That
was much, much fun and i'd love to do it
again. It helps that the home team won!
And i got to wolf down one of those huge saugages on a bun
that only the street vendors know how to make taste
right. Yum. Hips. Ewwwww. Master's
brother R went with me, and we chatted in between
watching. He's very good at explaining what is going
on, and cute besides. Gotta love it. On the
way home He pulled me into a favourite store of ours and
bought me a birthday gift. i protested loudly,
insisting He shouldn't do this, but (typical Dom) He
wasn't listening.
i
have this thing for hands. i absolutely love wood
carvings (or any material for that matter) of hands.
And pictures of hands. i love watching people
express with their hands, and i find all variations and
ages of hands equally interesting. Particularly old
hands, and baby hands. Baby hands are just so
incredibly smooth, fragile and un-used, merely waiting to
experience life. And old hands show the years of
wear and tear and pain and pleasure in such an
interesting, crinkly way. R bought me a very
elegant, carved-wood hand, arranged in a classic
Indonesian dancer's pose. i absolutely love it.
i
was positively indulged this year. The hand, and
Master giving me the painting (which also reminds me of
the ocean in Indonesia, i swam in all those years ago),
plus bringing me another gift when i was visiting my
daughter (a small wooden box with earrings inside ... i'm
equally passionate about boxes) and all in all i'm a very
happy camper.
PS (and a new logo for the ezine :)
Thanks Frank!)
It's
important to study it carefully ... once you do, you will
see a maple leaf, but upon closer inspection you see the
side view of a face with a ball gag about to be put in
place ... the red circle is the ball, with a strap leading
from it. The funny little "L" gidgy is an
eye.
